Limnology Water Quality

HELLO,

We welcome you to our Burlington High School environmental science website. We have a lot of information to give to you, as well as some new updates of our yearly testing.

The information you will read on this web site has been gathered by students at Burlington High School (located in western Racine County, Wisconsin) under the direction of Mrs. Peters (aka Mrs. P), a teacher from the science department.

The students have tested two types of bodies of water: Lentic(meaning slow moving water) and Lotic (meaning fast moving water). The lentic system being tested is Rockland Lake, while the lotic system being tested is the Fox River.

Four limnology classes-two studing lentic systems and two studying lotic ones-are conducting the tests. Some of these tests are the same for both systems; others are different.

We all hope you enjoy the website and find it helpful. We encourage you to e-mail us with any questions or concerns you might have about our project.
